What is GSM?
GSM stands for grams per square metre and is the unit used to measure the weight of a fabric.
A lower GSM fabric will feel lighter and more breathable, while a higher GSM fabric will feel thicker, heavier, and generally more durable.
For example:
• Lightweight t shirts are typically 120 to 160 GSM
• Standard t shirts are usually 160 to 200 GSM
• Heavyweight t shirts are generally 200 GSM and above
GSM helps determine the overall feel, durability, and structure of a garment.
What does singles mean in fabric?
“Singles” refers to the yarn thickness used to knit the fabric.
For example, 30 singles means a finer yarn has been used, which results in a softer and smoother fabric that is ideal for premium t shirts.
Lower numbers such as 20 singles use thicker yarns, creating a heavier and more textured fabric.
In simple terms:
Higher singles = finer yarn = softer fabric
Lower singles = thicker yarn = heavier fabric
Do Mindful Merch garments shrink?
We take several steps during production to minimise shrinkage.
Our fabrics go through a two stage pre shrink process during knitting and dyeing, followed by an additional garment wash after the garments are sewn. This process stabilises the fabric and helps reduce shrinkage after purchase.
Because our garments are dyed and washed as part of the finishing process, slight measurement variations can occur. A tolerance of up to 2cm, primarily in length, is considered normal.
Why do some garments measure slightly differently from the size guide?
Garment dyeing and washing processes naturally affect fabric behaviour.
As a general guide:
• Block colour dyed garments may measure up to 2cm longer than the size guide
• Undyed garments may measure 1 to 2cm shorter
• Acid wash or stonewash garments may measure slightly longer due to the additional wash processes
These variations are a normal part of garment dye production.
Why can colours vary slightly between batches?
All Mindful Merch colours are developed using Pantone colour references to maintain consistency.
However, because our garments are made using GOTS certified organic cotton and garment dyeing techniques, slight colour variations can occur between batches.
Natural fibres absorb dye differently depending on factors such as:
• the cotton batch
• fabric weight
• dye lots
• washing processes
These subtle differences are a normal and expected part of working with natural fibres and ethical dyeing processes.
What is garment dyeing?
Garment dyeing is a process where the garment is dyed after it has been cut and sewn.
This technique creates:
• richer colour depth
• a softer hand feel
• a more natural lived in look
It also means every batch may have slight variations, which is part of the character of garment dyed apparel.
What is custom made to order?
Our Custom Made to Order service allows brands, creators, and businesses to customise Mindful Merch garments using our existing blank styles.
This includes options such as:
• choosing your preferred garment style
• selecting fabric weight (GSM)
• choosing a Pantone colour
• adding screen printing or embroidery
• custom neck labels
• swing tags and packaging
This allows you to create branded merchandise while using our established garment fits and fabrics.
Can I change the fit or pattern in made to order?
Our custom made to order service focuses on customising our existing Mindful Merch blanks, rather than creating completely new garment patterns.
This allows us to maintain consistent fits while giving brands flexibility to customise colours, branding, and finishing details.
Is there a minimum order quantity for custom made to order?
Yes. Minimum order quantities apply depending on the garment and customisation required.

Do you offer wholesale or trade accounts?
Yes.
Trade accounts are available for businesses that operate within industries such as:

Approved trade customers receive wholesale pricing designed for businesses purchasing garments for resale or production purposes.
Who can apply for a trade account?

Shipping and Delivery
When will my order be shipped?
Orders are typically processed within 1 to 3 business days. Once your order has been dispatched you will receive a confirmation email with tracking details.
Delivery times will vary depending on your location and the shipping service selected.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship to many international locations. Shipping rates and delivery times will vary depending on the destination and will be calculated at checkout.
Can I track my order?
Yes. Once your order has been dispatched you will receive an email containing your tracking information so you can follow the delivery of your order.
Returns and Exchanges
Do you accept returns?
We accept returns on unworn, unwashed items in their original condition within the timeframe specified in our return policy.
If you would like to request a return, please contact our team with your order details and we will assist you with the process.
Can I exchange an item for a different size?
If you require a different size, please contact our team and we will do our best to assist with an exchange, subject to stock availability.
Are custom made to order items refundable?
Custom made to order items are produced specifically for your order and are therefore not eligible for return or exchange, unless the item arrives faulty.
Garment Care
How should I wash my Mindful Merch garments?
To maintain the quality and colour of your garment we recommend:
• Cold machine wash
• Wash with similar colours
• Do not bleach
• Line dry in shade
• Do not tumble dry if possible
• Warm iron inside out if required
Following these care instructions will help extend the life of your garment and maintain its colour and shape.
About Our Production
Where are Mindful Merch garments produced?
Mindful Merch garments are produced through our ethical production teams in Vietnam and Bangladesh.
Over the past few years we have worked closely with our teams to build responsible production partnerships and ensure transparency across our supply chain.
Our Vietnam production team began with one maker and has grown into a small team of skilled garment makers producing our garments in a dedicated production space.
We have also established our own production unit in Bangladesh, where we continue to expand our capabilities including printing and dyeing.
What materials do you use?
We prioritise the use of GOTS certified organic cotton across our garments.
Where possible, we aim to source Australian cotton as part of our long term commitment to responsible material sourcing.
Using certified organic cotton helps ensure environmentally responsible farming practices and safer working conditions throughout the supply chain.
Do you knit your own fabric?
Yes. Mindful Merch develops and produces its own fabrics for many of our garments.
By controlling the fabric development stage we are able to ensure the quality, weight, and feel of the material meets our standards before it is cut and sewn into garments.
